What is your favorite alternative metal to work with?
We love niobium.

When did you start working with it?
1986

What are the main benefits of working with it?
It works very much like sterling but with the big exception that it can't be soldered to. However, it form beautifully with work hardening, and we can texture it by bead blasting to get some great looks.

What does it enable you to do with you can't do with previous metals?
Color, color, color! Niobium can be oxidized to achieve a rainbow of beautiful colors.

Are there any challenges in working with it?
You can't solder anything to it but you can laser weld it. It's also hard to find and time-consuming to polish.
